Custom suits in Sarasota, fitted at your home or club.
Sarasota is the southern end of the bench's regular circuit, and its most formal audience — a city whose opera, ballet and gala calendar keeps evening clothes working harder than anywhere else on the coast.
Sarasota
The arts town that dresses for it
Sarasota inherited the Ringling fortune's habits along with its museum: this is a town where the Sarasota Opera's opening night, the Van Wezel's season and a winter of foundation galas mean genuine black tie, worn by people who can tell rented from owned at thirty feet. The audience is also the toughest kind — retired executives and professionals who wore good tailoring their whole careers and have no intention of stopping.
Orders here skew formal and unhurried: dinner jackets, three-season suits in the 260-gram range for the migration between Sarasota summers and northern autumns, and blazers cut for the Longboat and Bird Key club circuit.

Where the appointments happen
Most Sarasota fittings happen at home — Longboat Key, Bird Key, Siesta Key, the west-of-Trail neighborhoods and Lakewood Ranch east of the interstate — with downtown office visits around Main Street and Palm Avenue in between. The Field Club and Longboat Key Club are both familiar ground.
Sarasota sits at the far end of the no-travel-charge zone, so visits are batched into full days, usually two fixed days a week. That rhythm is worth knowing for scheduling: fittings book a few days further out than Tampa's, and the calendar is planned around it.
How the four appointments workWeddings
Marrying in Sarasota
Sarasota's wedding venues are the region's most photogenic and its most formal: the Ca' d'Zan terrace at the Ringling, Marie Selby Botanical Gardens over the bay, the Powel Crosley Estate on the water just north of town, and the resort lawns of Longboat Key. A Ca' d'Zan or Crosley wedding calls for tailoring a notch dressier than the beach norm — midnight blue rather than sand linen — while a Selby Gardens ceremony under the oaks in May is exactly what open-weave cloth was invented for.
